dutchess…the new addition to our family.

while we were reading the evening paper, we ran across an article about a bunch of dog’s being abused and starved. They were rescued, and put up for adoption.

Even though the adoption fee was $250.00, plus gas money to pick her up (which is an hour away from my house), we could have almost bought a new BABY pug.

Dutchess is 3 years old, and we adopted her, we go get her tonight, and bring her home.

The picture above is from the adoption agency.

  5. Well, I bit my tongue. I wouldn’t be another person to say “aww” after the other four that already have. I’d feel like a dork. Ha ha. No offense to those above me. But that is very sweet and generous of you guys to take this dog into your lives at such a cost. I think it’s probably because of how much it costs them to do all this that they charge so much - you know? But I don’t know. I know at the Humane Society here, they charge like $90.00 for a cat. A cat! When you can get them dime a dozen around here…heck my cat Baby before she took off has been pregnant every year since we had her. Ha ha. So there is no shortage on cats…but honestly, that is really sweet of you guys. She looks like such a sweetheart. =]

  7. Hey Dawn, that’s awesome. She’s a cute dog, and was in need of a loving home. You guys did a great thing. I want a little doggy too, but the deposit alone for my apartments is like 400.00, and I just can’t afford it, especially now. Anyway, I haven’t been neglecting reading your blog, I just had to evacuate from my home because of that stupid hurricane and the internet at our hotel is incredibly laggy. It works pretty good in the middle of the night, however. I think cause not as many people are using it.
