High Heels For Babies?
June 17th, 2008 @ 5:22 pm

I read this news article about a new trend for female babies. High heels. I find this really revolting. Babies are being sexualized. At least it seem’s that way to me. I think that women have “high” standards to live up to, physically. I seen a “bratz” doll that had a see through-ish dress on, that exposed everything but thin underwear and a push up bra. That’s the image young girls are getting about what’s “sexy” and what’s “appropriate”? Woman don’t need to dress like complete whores to be sexy. And i honor every woman who thinks the same. Im not super skinny, and im not tan, and I have pimples and stretch marks…and damn…I’m comfortable in my skin. I don’t need to impress anyone.

Does anyone else think that high heels and skimpy dolls are a bad influence to young girls?

OMGOSH! That is so horrible! Those ladies who made the “baby heels” think it’s funny, but it’s not! They’re like, “Oh, they don’t know what’s happening, so it’s okay!” No, it isn’t okay. That’s just wrong.. Dressing up little girls in heels…

Ugh, thats absolutely disgusting!! Yes I think that dolls dressed all skanky are a terrible influence to little girls. It’s not just ridiculous to have them for babies because of the obvious sexualization but its NOT GOOD for their feet! they are still growing and if parents keep them on their feet all the time, well.. it wouldnt be good.

    Defffinitely be affiliates !

Whenever I saw commercials for those new Barbie and Bratz dolls, I always wondered by they have so much ” make-up ” painted on their faces when 6 year old girls are playing with them. Where did you hear about this new trend ?

Heels for babies? What? What for? That makes no sense. I think people are getting desperate for new ideas … babies don`t need heels. That`s craziness. Those Bratz dolls make me mad. They look so fake. No female looks like that. And I hate that little girls would want to look like that… kids are really just growing up too fast.

Honestly, I dislike the Bratz dolls. Them all together. Honestly, I just don’t like it. First, Barbies now Bratz? I mean, it’s giving these young girls a bad way to see physique in women. Oh my goodness. Don’t get me started.

[ Oh have I missed you Dawn... ]

    Those Bratz dolls are…well, brats.
Most of all, I think they’re terrible
role models for children. - Just look
at the heavy makeup and skanky clothes
    they wear!

I’m going to say the same thing I say every time something like this comes up in subject: it’s not the doll itself, it’s how you raise them.

Little girls play with dolls. Barbies have been around for I don’t know how many years! And they’re the worst for giving the wrong image to little girls with their supposed “perfect” proportions and all.

But! It’s never the doll. It’s how you raise your little girls to see themselves and teach them what is sexy, and appropriate.

I find it absolutely revolting that someone would put high heels on a baby. I’ve got two little girls, but here’s the interesting part: my oldest, who is 2 and a half - knows all about Miley Cyrus {Hannah Montana} and Brats and Barbies. One person even bought her a barbie for her second birthday. Guess what happened to Miss Priss Barbie? She ended up with her head almost ripped off and in the back of her toy room under a bunch of other toys.

It’s all about how you raise your daughters. Lots of mothers, clearly, think these things are okay - because they’re doing it to their kids or getting them to do it.

I don’t blame the companies at all for the toys. I blame the parents who are making it seem okay for this stuff for little girls. I saw a four year old with make up on. It’s NOT okay for a four year old to be wearing thick caked on make up and wearing whorish clothes. It’s not. And anyone who ever said it was, or intends that it is okay, ugh. I won’t even go there.

Sorry if I seem aggressive, this topic infuriates me…

But I read an article on men wanting “real women”. Women with curves, etc. I’ve got stretch marks. I’m not skinny. I’m between pasty and tanned. I’ve got freckles, pimples, I sweat, I fart, I belch and I can probably down more food than most men I know. I’m a real woman, and proud of it. I want my girls to be proud of the women they will become.

Not turn into Miss Barbie who was on Dr Phil because she is obsessed with trying to look “perfect”…

That is absolutely terrible. I even thought that the “pregnant” barbie was unacceptable as well. It seems women are being degraded in almost everything and it’s sickening. These types of things should be banned from stores.

Btw. I have a new domain now. It’s linked in this comment. My old domain is now a forum.

I agree, i really dislike bratz! i believe they hate off of barbie because she has the cars, the jobs, and the hot ken! lol but babies in high heels? how stupid! but when i was 7 and i got my first brat doll, i pulled the head off! but they are trying to make and image that is unreal, every since Cinderella and Snow White you could say.

Why? Seriously, why? They’re BABIES, they probably cant even walk, and if they’re approaching the age where they do learn to walk, yeah just put them in high heels, let them break their necks.
Seriously thats just a stupid idea.

i admit that it’s really cute to see high heels fitting a baby’s feet but i definitely do not like the idea of babies wearing high heels.

Gah, really? That’s quite sad, I mean people overdress their little babies as it is, but high heels? That’s just overboard.

It’s pretty crazy how parents go ga-ga about their babies but we all can’t blame them can we? I mean it’s fun dressing up a doll as it is how much more dressing up a real thing right? LOL. BUt about the Bratz dolls and stuff, I can’t say they’re bad influence but i just think that there should be like an age cut off for kids to watch or have bratz stuff. Just like watching Disney channel, it’s a kids channel but it doesn’t mean ALL kids can watch it. I watch the channel all the time (haha) and there are pretty PG-13 stuff on it. *sighhh*

I miss you butterbutt!!! Sorry I’ve been real busy lately but I will make it up to you I promise! muuuuah. :)
